Xiaomi recently launched its US$7 Door and Window Sensor 2 in the Chinese market. The new IoT product is an extension of the company’s strategy to broaden its presence across the entire breadth of the consumer tech industry, from ultra premium TVs to midrange smartphones to IoT devices.
The Door and Window Sensor 2 is an iterative update to 2015’s original Door and Window sensor. it features Mijia multi-function tech, which allows users to monitor doors and windows in real-time. The Door and Window Sensor 2 also features a light sensor to detect ambient light.
In evenings and early morning, when outside light is dim, the Door and Window Sensor 2 can automatically activate connected smart lights. The Door and Window Sensor 2 also incorporates the security features from its predecessors, and can be configured to sound an alarm in case of unauthorized access to the user’s home.
