The current version of Cantabile (v3694) needs Net Framework 4.7.1 to run.
More often than not this frame work will not install on windows 7.
Before I start, some people like myself have specific reasons to run widows 7.
For me, it is the incompatibility of the VSTs I have with windows 10.
My music PC''s run on an intranet, there are no security
issues as there is no connection to the outside world.
Without further a do this is how I was able to have cantabile running smoothly
(reboot when prompted) (assuming all other device drivers have been installed)
First thing to install after a fresh install of Win7 is the Service pack 1 update.
"windows6.1-KB976932-X64"
Next, install the first net frame work 4.5.2
"net frame work 4.5.2.NDP452-KB2901907-x86-x64-AllOS-ENU.exe"
Next to install is:
"platform-update-for-windows7-kb2670838-x64.msu"
"Windows6.1-KB2813430-x64.msu"
"windows6.1-kb4019990-x64.msu"
Next to install are the missing trusted root certificates
Without out these net frame work 4.7.1 will not install.
If the PC your working with does not have internet, you need to temporarly enable internet.
Without internet framework 4.7.1 will not install at all, you will have an install failure, even
after installing the root certificates. Afterwards internet can then be disabled (if need be).

I''ve been considering Cantabile for a while and, like you, because of various VSTs have stuck with Win7.
